The first batch of MPH students entered in the spring of 2005. Admission to the BRAC University School of Public Health will be vetted by an admissions committee who will use a combination of academic grades, test scores, interviews and work experience, publications and awards to evaluate each applicant. The student body will be a combination of Bangladeshi and international students. As the programme is a multi-disciplinary one, students will be selected from different disciplines. The student body will include:
1. Graduates and post-graduate degree holders in medical and health related studies who want to deepen their understanding of public health;
2. Social science and other graduates who have work experience in the health field and want to specialize in public health;
3. Professionals who are working in NGOs, development organisations or in the private sector with a public health focus;
4. Academics and researchers who want to refine their knowledge and research skills in public health issues.
Admission requirements
The MPH programme is particularly suited to individuals who wish to build or further enhance their career in public health or allied areas. Candidates
fulfilling the following criteria are eligible to apply:

- A Bachelor's/ Master's degree (at least 16 years of education) in Medicine, Nursing, Health Sciences or any physical, biological or social sciences. Excellent academic records with no third division or with GPA of less than 3.0 (out of
4.0)
- Basic Arithmetic skills and proficiency in English (written and spoken). A TOEFL score of 250 on computer-based test/100 on internet-based test or IELTS of 6.5 would be an advantage.
- Preferably 1 year of work experience in health / social development sector.
- Computer literacy is essential; skill in using data analysis software will be an advantage.
- The admission process involves a written test and interviews.
