The Government’s Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in association with James P. Grant School of Public Health (JPGSPH) and GIZ organized a short course on “Health Information System Strengthening in Low/Middle Income Countries” during January 13-17, 2013. Total 37 officials from the Government, international and non-government organizations participated in the short course. Among them 20 were from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) and Directorate General of Family Planning (DGFP), 4 from BRAC Health Program (BHP), 5 from JPGSPH, 5 from GIZ and the rest of the participants were from Bangladesh Institute of Health Sciences (BIHS).
The course covered the issues like Integrated Health Information Architecture (IHIA) in a new environment, case studies along with practical demonstration of software including District Health Information System 2 (DHIS-2). The participants gave positive feedback after the completion of the course.
