The JPGSPH organized a short course titled ‘Public Health Management for Malaria Programme Managers’, in partnership with BRAC Health Nutrition and Population Programme, BRAC Learning Division and icddr,b from 2 February, 2013 to 14 February, 2013. The course was attended by 22 participants (2 Female and 20 male) from eight districts: Dhaka, Khagrachhori, Rangamati, Bandarban, Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar, Sunamgonj and Sylhet.
Participants were mainly program managers or senior project officials from BRAC and seven partner organizations including SKUS, VARD, AKLAB, Sajida Foundation, Hitaishi-Bangladesh, BDSC and N.Z. Ekata Mohila Samiti.
A highly qualified resource pool of 25 resource persons from governmental, non-governmental, national and international organizations has been developed to facilitate the sessions. The course provided critical insight into health systems strengthening in light of malaria programmes, covering topics such as health systems requirements, human resource management, universal health coverage, health care financing and governance and leadership skills.
The course ended on 14 February, 2013 with a certificate giving ceremony. Prof. Be-Nazir Ahmed, Director, Disease Control & Line Director, CDC, DGHS, MOHFW, Dhaka, Dr. Md. Akramul Islam, Associate Director, BRAC Health Programme, Ms. Ismat Bhuiya, Director Programs, JPGSPH, BRAC University and other relevant personnel of JPGSPH were attended the certificate giving ceremony.
