This venture was funded and supported by Institute of Public Health Nutrition (IPHN) and National Nutritional Services (NNS) of GoB. ToT on Basic Nutrition was conducted from May 31-June 4, June 7-11, June 14-18, 2015 (two cohorts in each slot) and Management of Sam and CMAM were conducted from May 24-28, June 7-11, June 21-25, 2015 (two cohorts in each slot). Each cohort had 4-5 local participants and 20 participants from district and upazila level. A total of 140 health professionals from all over the country participated in the Basic Nutrition training whereas a total of 157 participants enrolled for Management of SAM and CMAM ToT. The resource pool comprised of skilled and knowledgeable key persons in the field of health and nutrition hailed from IPHN, NNS, ICDDR,B, BSMMU, DMCH etc. The objective of the training on Basic Nutrition was to reduce the rate of malnutrition by monitoring and enhancing nutritional status of mother, children and adolescents. Training on SAM and CMAM enhanced knowledge and skills specifically needed for management of SAM and CMAM. It was expected that participants upon returning will apply the knowledge gained from the training.
