James P Grant School of Public Health organised a farewell gathering in honour of outgoing Dean Dr. Timothy G. Evans on 19 June 2013 at the School. He has completed his tenure and joined the World Bank as the Director for Health, Nutrition and Population on June 23, 2013. Faculties, colleagues and students spoke on the occasion commemorating his contribution to the development of the school. The staffs of JPGSPH showed a video compiling funny experience and pleasant memories with Tim. The students also performed music and poetry recitation in relation to his hearty attachments with the school. Dr. Tim also acknowledged that he passes his best three years of his life with the School in Bangladesh. Dr. Timothy G. Evans joined BRAC University from August 2010. Prior to joining here, he was Assistant Director General of the World Health Organization in Geneva. He was seconded to BRAC University from icddr,b as a senior strategic adviser on knowledge translation. Dr. Evans has worked as Assistant Professor of International Health Economics at the Harvard School of Public health and as Director of the Health Equity at the Rockefeller Foundation. The School is grateful to him for his leadership toward the accomplishments in the area of education, research and advocacy during the last three years.
