Bangladesh Institute of Theatrical Arts (BITA)

This was a case study conducted in July 2013 which lookedat an organisation that worked with the community through advocacy approaches and creating opportunities for discussion and dialogue among the urban poor and those holding power and influence. This was done through the creation of a third layer of stakeholders who will act as intermediaries among these two parties.

Key findings: The community is broader than just the urban poor and mobilising communities requires work with both the urban poor as well as gatekeepers. Often times mobilising this third layer is proven to be beneficial in facilitating implementation and mobilisation of activities.
